چکیده

ment for the recanalization of obstruction or stenosis of vessels (1), and they have also been used for the treatment of dissecting carotid aneurysms and subclavian artery aneurysms (2-5). Traditionally, the treatment of splenic artery aneurysm (SAA) is surgery or a transcatheter arterial embolization. However, the technique of treating SAA with stent-grafts has been recently reported (6). To our knowledge, there has been no report of the usefulness of self-expandable double overlapping stents for the treatment of SAA. The acute angle at the origin of the splenic artery in the celiac axis, as well as the tortuous nature of the splenic artery, is sometimes responsible for the failure of the aneurysm treatment with the use of stent graft. We report here a case of SAA that was successfully treated with double overlapping metallic stents. Case Report

Spontaneous thrombosis of a saccular iliac artery aneurysm induced by overlapping self-expandable bare metallic stents.

Isolated iliac artery aneurysms are rare lesions. Prompt diagnosis and timely intervention are essential in their management. In elderly patients with coexisting medical problems, endovascular procedures are preferred to avoid the risks of morbidity and mortality associated with general anesthesia and surgery. We report a case of a true saccular external iliac artery aneurysm that underwent spo...

Treatment of a ruptured dissecting vertebral artery aneurysm with double stent placement: case report.

A ruptured dissecting right vertebral artery aneurysm was treated by means of double stent placement with two overlapping stents. Control angiography performed 3 d after stent placement revealed beginning aneurysmal thrombosis. Substantial reduction in aneurysmal size was observed after 4 wk, whereas total occlusion was observed after 3 mo. The reduced stent porosity caused by the overlapping s...

Successful treatment of aberrant splenic artery aneurysm with a combination of coils embolization and covered stents

BACKGROUND Aneurysms of an aberrant splenic artery originating from the superior mesenteric artery (SMA) are extremely rare; however, they are clinically important because possible rupture could be catastrophic. The methods of treatment for this condition include surgical resection, minimally invasive techniques (include laparoscopic technique) and endovascular therapy. The purpose of this stud...

Effectiveness of Bare Metal Stent Implantation for the Treatment of Coronary Artery Aneurysm: A Multimodality Imaging Evaluation

Coronary artery aneurysm (CAA) after sirolimus-eluting stent (SES) implantation is one of the most troublesome problems associated with first-generation drug-eluting stents. However, the natural course and standard therapy of CAA has been unknown. A 49-year-old man underwent SES implantation for the left anterior descending artery. Follow-up coronary angiography (CAG) revealed CAA in the SES. W...

Haematochezia from a Splenic Artery Pseudoaneurysm Communicating with Transverse Colon: A Case Report and Literature Review

Splenic artery aneurysms (SAA) are the third most common intra-abdominal aneurysm. Complications include invasion into surrounding structures often in association with preexisting pancreatic disease. We describe an 88-year-old female, with no history of pancreatic disease, referred with lower gastrointestinal bleeding. CT angiography showed a splenic artery pseudoaneurysm with associated collec...
